Statement of Policy
Piano lessons are given once every week. It is important that the student attend every lesson to ensure that steady progress is made. In addition to the weekly lesson, it is essential that the student practice daily. I understand how hard it is to find the time in our busy lives, and I encourage you to set a regular routine. This is especially important for younger children. If the routine is established from the beginning, many problems will be eliminated. I recommend that every day students practice the same length of time that their lessons last, i.e. a student who has a 45 minute lesson should practice 45 minutes every day
Payment is due at the beginning of each month. The cost of lessons is:
- 30 minute lessons - $180.00 per month
- 45 minute lessons - $200.00 per month
- 60 minute lessons - $240.00 per month
Music and recital fees should be included in the monthly payment when appropriate.
Please note there are five weeks in a month several times a year. If a student attends all lessons, s/he will receive bonus lessons.
I will only make up lessons in which I must cancel. If a student cannot make the lesson, I will be happy to share the phone number of another student so that they may trade lesson times.
In addition to weekly lessons, there will be several group classes during the year. The purpose of these classes is to learn more about music theory and music history, explore ensemble playing and gain experience performing in a small group in preparation for upcoming recitals. The students are expected to attend these classes.*
There will be two recitals a year. I hope everyone will make an effort to attend.*
* This does not apply to adult students.
